Our Community

A study of the responsibilities of, and opportunities available to, community members. The program leads students through a discovery of community activity, businesses that operate within the community and how the government works to support services for the well-being of its citizens.

  • Understand that government collects taxes to provide services for everyone

  • Identify circumstances of money being exchanged for goods and sevices

Methodology

A combination of traditional theory with practical hands-on activities supported by software programs and the presence of a volunteer business consultant. Activities include: discussions, games, video projection, creative activities, tests, questionnaires, team work, role plays
